There is guilt from taking time for yourself.

Today I will not feel guilty or selfish for taking time to better myself. Today and always I will love my girl and continue to be the best mom I know how to be.

“The gym was the only place I could face the trauma. It was the only place I felt peace and comfort during one of the darkest times of my life.”

My heart longs to be here.

Today I am proud of setting a date for completing 32 miles. I will focus on the everyday accomplishments instead of letting fear cloud my mind. Today, I will remember the breathtaking views and let that motivate me to continue training.

“Instead of fighting against myself and hating my body for not performing like my pre cancer days, I decided to change my outlook and love my body for being able to just get up and get moving after all it had endured.”

I see improvements every day.

Today I will go to treatment and rest. Tomorrow get up and continue to train. To get my mileage in for the week I will have to run in bad weather, the dark, and when I don’t want to. This week I will be consistent and focus on the positives so I can be successful.

I want to evoke emotion rather than explain it.

Today I will follow where this journey will lead. I will challenge myself to share my story through art, no matter the form. I will continue to share honest feelings, raw moments, and beauty of my journey to 32 miles.

I decide how to live my life, not cancer.

Today I will be proud of getting one step closer to my goal. I will not let setbacks leave me feeling defeated. Today I will continue to work hard and make healthy decisions so I can be my best.

This season of life is preparing me for the next.

The risk of failure must be overcome by hope of the future.

Today, I will continue to work toward my goals. I will not let setbacks and negative thoughts cloud my view of the finish line. Today, I will learn from yesterday but not let it affect today’s attitude.

Same me, but better.

Today I will set goals and celebrate the new year. I will also look back on all the amazing things that happened in 2020. 2021 I will be the same me, but better. (January resolution printable)
